Back in 2012, Diane Stautde's husband Mark died at the age of 61. At the time, they ruled out his death as a natural cause. There was a small ring of blood around his mouth.
With Mark's insurance payout, Diane alongside her four children moved to a different house. In September of the same year, their son Shaun died in a similar manner.

But when Diane rushed her daughter Sarah to the emergency room, things took a different turn. Police got an anonymous tip claiming Diane was involved.
Later on, when Springfield Det. Neal McAmis looked closely at the case they found similarities on the case. During interrogation, she admitted to killing her husband and son with an anti-freezer with the help of her daughter Rachel.
As she pleaded guilty in court, she was sentenced lifetime in prison without parole.
